Part Two: Rise Into All Jesus Died For
If we are to tap into the power of communion we need to rise into all Jesus died for. In PART ONE I helped you reaffirm your identity. I showed you why communion is an important part of establishing your relationship with Jesus. It’s where we learn to trust Him as He shows us our true identity. This week in PART TWO I want to teach you that it’s through the participation of communion that we discover how to rise up and step into the power that Jesus offers. Unless we know why Jesus sacrificed Himself, we will never experience the fullness of His death.

1 Corinthians 11:26 says, ‘What you must solemnly realise is that every time you eat this bread and every time you drink this cup, you reenact in your words and actions the death of the Master.’ When we take communion we are regularly connecting ourselves to the power of a passionate and radical love. The greek word eucharisto means to “give thanks.” So, what part of Jesus’s death are you most thankful for?

Are you thankful that Jesus paid a deep debt for you that you could have never have paid yourself? Adam lost his identity, authority and destiny in the Garden and gave it over to the serpent when he ate the fruit. Jesus claimed all that back when He died on the cross and gave us our identity, authority and destiny which the enemy stole from Adam. Not only was His death for you to have a relationship with God but He also died so you could live in the fullness of God’s grace and power. Satan no longer has any power over your identity, authority and destiny if you are in Christ. And every time you take communion, you’re reminding him of that fact.

Your enemy tries to cash in cheques that his empty promises cannot afford. And unless you start rising and connecting to the power of communion, Satan will rob and strip you of everything Jesus died for. Don’t let the battle be in vain, my friend. We have been liberated and empowered to live a full life. When you wake up and realise how much has been given to you through Jesus’s death, you are dangerous to the devil.
In his book The LEGO Principle, Joey Bonifacio reminds us that, “We are so activity orintated that we assume we are saved for a task we are to perform rather than a relationship to enjoy.” Until we start to understand that communion isn’t just another task to remember we are saved, but a powerful weapon against the enemy, then we will never know the fullness of everything Jesus died for. When we rise up and reconnect with our identity, authority and destiny that Jesus gave to us through His death, we can only then tap into the full power of communion.
Surrendering your authority to the enemy is living a lesser life than the one you were created to live. Start tapping into the power of communion and live the full life Jesus died for!
