Childlike Faith – Becoming the real deal

Childlike Faith?

Well that sounds so, well – simple

So, childlike and freeing

And I want it

If it gets people to love Jesus

Then, I’m in

It’s all about becoming the real deal

Because if we just stopped for one moment

And cut the, “I’m a mature Christian” act

We tend to play the further we get along the path towards Heaven

And actually, had some fun for a change

Some what?!

F.U.N.

Remember that?

That liberating feeling you had as a child?

Goofing around like you haven’t a care in the world?

And embrace the beautiful disaster that Jesus died on a cross for

People would totally be asking, “Why are you so happy?”

CHILDLIKE FAITH

What if we just got real and discarded the fake -ness?

Childlike Faith isn’t about not taking on responsibility

Or not being accountable for your actions

And it’s certainly not about doing whatever we want to

Because we have been saved by grace

Noooooo, my friend

It’s just enjoying life and bringing the love of Jesus to people you meet

It says in Nehemiah 8:10 that, ‘The JOY of the Lord is my strength’

And its JOY that is a fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22

Legalism and Religion bind you

And put you in chains

I always know when I come across a ‘religious spirit’

Because the person reels off a long list of what you can’t do

Rather than what Jesus set you free from

BECOMING THE REAL DEAL

People at work know I’m a Christian and go to Church

And they’re always asking me why I’m so happy all the time

I tell them it’s the drugs I’m on

And oh, how we laugh

(Joke, it’s a joke)

Sheesh, so uptight people

You need to become more childlike  😉

Seriously though, I always pray before I get to work

“Jesus, today, let them see You through me”

Have you lost your muchness?

That Childlike spirit that gives freedom to your Faith?

I don’t know about you

But my life hasn’t been a walk in the park

I’ve experienced my fair share of battles with the enemy

And he’s trespassed on turf that he had no right to be on

But I won’t let him steal my Joy

Because that’s what draws people to me

Which draws them to Jesus

So, stop over-thinking things

Laugh often with friends

Slurp your milkshake while eating your fries

Do something awesome

Breathe in and breathe out

Relax

And just enjoy life!

Because you know the saying

“Misery loves company”

And I don’t want to indulge in that type of behaviour if it causes a stumbling block

For the lost to become found by Jesus

I want to keep that little girl innocence

And see people as Jesus sees them

Let your light shine, my friend

And walk in the freedom of a Childlike Faith
