Breathe Again – Holding your breath for the promise

I’ve been holding my breath for 3 weeks now

No, I ‘m not trying to set a new world record

I’m holding my breath because I’m waiting

I dare not let my imagination run away with me

Dreaming of better things, greater things

The things I’ve waited so, so long for

The promise that God gave to me all those years ago

That I’ve stood on, cried over and held dear

Could it finally be coming to pass?

Could the publishing door finally open for my book to come to life?

And then I wonder

What if it doesn’t happen?

What will I do then?

Will I be able to breathe again if it all goes wrong?

BREATHE AGAIN

Your “holding your breath” moment may look different to mine

Maybe you’re waiting on an important exam result

Or a test result from your doctor

Or two lines on that pregnancy test

Whatever your holding your breath for

You tell yourself that you can breathe again

When the exam is passed

The test result is clear

When you can finally shop for those maternity clothes

breath

But God sees it differently

He reminds us in Scripture, that He’s with you

Through your “holding your breath” moments

We think that God is only with us when the promise is fulfilled

When we come up for air and breathe again

When everything turns out for good and we can relax

That’s when He’s with you

But God reminds us in Hebrews 13:5 that, ‘He will never leave us or forsake us’

Even when we feel it’s all going wrong and you’re drowning

In a sea of hopelessness

Holding your breath for the promise

He’s still with you

breath

And just when you think you can’t hold your breath for another second

God gently reminds us, that you don’t have to have it all figured out

He just wants you to breathe again and trust His plan

Even when the deep waters of disappointment wash over you

He’s got you

He hasn’t forgotten His promise to you

It may look a little different to what you imagined

But you have to trust Him

Because God promises that His words, ‘…do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them’ (Isaiah 55:11)

And you don’t need to hold your breath for that promise!

Life doesn’t always go to plan, but if it did it would be boring, remember the movies we love the most the ones that are different outside of the box, well that is our wonderful God, he is different outside of the box. Thats what makes it so exciting being a Christian, and following Christ, because in the end we do this to give him all the glory, because he deserves it. Where ever God sends you always remember God is God, and you are not him. so breathe Wendy, Daddy God has it in hand, he knows your heart desires, he loves blessing his children beyond our expectations.
