Time To Engage
Remember that scene in The Incredibles movie
When Helen Parr (Elastigirl) is trying to stop her kids from fighting at the dinner table?
“Bob! It’s time to engage! Do something! Don’t just stand there, I need you to intervene!”
Bob Parr (Mr Incredible) is so fed up
With his mundane, 9 to 5 job
and
His mundane suburban lifestyle
That he has completely
Disengaged
The world has turned its back on Super Hero’s
And the dull ache Bob Parr feels
To return to a life filled with adventure
Must be suppressed
TIME TO ENGAGE
If you’re reading this
And you’re thinking
Yep. That’s exactly how I feel
Well buckle up, my friend
Because there isn’t a moment to lose
It’s time to engage!
“But I’m not ready”
What are you talking about?
That is a lie from the enemy
Paul writes in Ephesians that he is, ‘…the least qualified of any of the available Christians. God saw to it that I was equipped, but you can be sure that it had nothing to do with my natural abilities.’ Ephesians 3:8 (The Message Bible)
Hear that?
God is the one who equips you
We don’t need Super Hero abilities
To be somebody’s Super Hero
You are a unique
Amazing individual
Who is an essential part of a great big adventure
That God is calling you to
So, stop ditzing around
And get crackin!
RISE and use the
Gifts and talents God has given you
Because they are
For a reason
It’s all
For His Glory
I don’t like to nag
But
It’s time to engage!
Do something!
Don’t just stand there
The world needs you to intervene!
And when the enemy whispers in your ear
That you must live
A mundane
Boring
Life
Remember the words of Edna ‘E’ Mode
“You will remind him who you are.”
…And Who’s you are
