Royal Identity Week 4 – Your Inheritance
We all love stories about orphans who receive their rightful inheritance.
We feel a deep sense that justice has been served when at the end of the story; the orphan inherits everything that their wicked relatives tried to keep hidden from them.
All their lives they have lived in the chains of lack and insignificance.
Their nasty relatives telling them that they have no value and that their opinions don’t really matter.
But when they had finally discovered who they truly were, they had to stop themselves from thinking like a pauper; they had to think and act differently to full appreciate the inheritance they’ve received.
When they inherited their riches, they needed to leave their rags behind.
We need to learn to leave our rags behind too and walk in our inheritance.
You can’t live an abundant, royal life if you’re still thinking like a pauper.
You need to realize who you truly are.
Psh, you say.
Alright for you…
Spoiler alert!
I know what it feels like to walk around in the chains of lack and insignificance.
To be made to feel that ‘rags’ are all I’m ever going to wear, so I’d better get used to it.
But I found out something.
The Devil is a liar.
And he will do anything to stop you realizing who you truly are.
He’s the wicked relative that has told you all your life that your opinion doesn’t really count and that you have no value.
He’s the one who has kept your inheritance hidden.
Because he knows they’ll be no stopping you when you start living like Royalty instead of living like a pauper.
Sassy finger snap – BOOM!
When you are a part of God’s Kingdom you need live out your new identity.
Once you realize whom you are your behaviour starts to change.
Old patterns become new garments.
It says in Ephesians 1:13 -14
‘It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this message of your salvation), found yourselves home free – signed, sealed and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first instalment on what’s coming, a reminder that we’ll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life.’ (The Message Bible)

Inheritance
Hear that?
That’s our inheritance.
Pretty darn good eh?
God values you and he loves you.
And He wants to help take those filthy rags of pauper hood off you and clothe you with His Righteousness.
Your sackcloth will be turned into Joy.
You are gonna look the antz pantz my friend!
So step out of pauper hood and into your royal life.
And go tell those nasty, wicked relatives to take a hike.
Because you are living out your inheritance like a boss!
