Prepare 4 Warfare Week two – Power in Praise

Well, we are into week two already

Of my Prepare 4 Warfare four-week series

Last week was about building walls

This week, it’s all about putting gates in

Power in Praise is powerful!

If you need to stop any satanic conspiracy against your life

Then look no further, my friend

At the Book of Psalms

Reading them helps you Prepare 4 Warfare

Isaiah 60:18 reminds us that we need to think of praise like a gate

‘But you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise’

Gates are to keep any unwanted trespassers off land that doesn’t belong to them

And that’s why the devil hates it when you start singing praises and worshiping God

Because you’ve discovered that

Not only is Satan trespassing on territory he has no right to be on

But, the floodlights are well and truly lit in your praise to God

Leaving that low-level loser nowhere to hide

There is power in praise

Read these Psalms and watch them deliver a power-packed punch!

‘Sing to God, sing praises to His name’ Psalm 68:4

‘I will cry out to God Most High, to God who performs all things for me’ Psalm 57:2

‘In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust, I will not fear’ Psalm 56:4

‘Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation’ Psalm 95:1

‘Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For He has done marvellous things’ Psalm 98:1

Yeah, well that sounds really  great, Wendy

But, I can’t sing

The power in your praise

Isn’t determined on whether you sound like a contestant on The Voice

Heaven hasn’t got a panel of judges deciding if they’re going to turn their chair around

And say, “Wow! I want you on my team!”

Seriously

This is Warfare, my friend

And it doesn’t matter if you sound like a seagull trapped in a drainpipe when you sing

Your praising God and that makes the ground tremble!

You’ve read this far down the page

So, I want you to pay attention to what I’m going to say

I don’t like to nag

But, I don’t want you to miss this, okay?

The reason why praise is so powerful

Is because you are turning your eyes away

From all your worries and problems

And you’re focusing on God

As we praise and worship God, we are magnifying Him

We are expressing our deep love for Him

Even if our situation tells us something different

Don’t you find that after you’ve entered into a time of singing some praises to God

Things don’t seem so hectic?

Your day seems to go better

And your attitude is more positive?

Praise is a highly effective weapon against the schemes of the devil

It is drawing on God’s spirit and truth in His Word

Psalm 149:6 says, ‘Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand’

Most days when I’m driving to work

I can have a full-on praise and worship session while listening to worship songs

And by the time I get to work, I’m spiritually ready to face my day

Try it sometime, it will give the devil a nervous breakdown!

There is power in praise

Because the last line of the last Psalm tells us so

‘Let everything that has breath praise the Lord’

PRAISE THE LORD!
