Not by a long shot: 237 good reasons to pray.
COVID-19, social distancing, self-isolation and panic buying are just some of the words that are being thrown around in our conversations at the moment like a well-choreographed fight in a W.W.F showdown. This is why I have reasons to pray right now. In fact, I have 237 good reasons to pray, and if you’re reading this then you’d better believe that you, my friend, are one of those 237 reasons. You are part of my tribe of 237 people and I care about you because there may be chaos in the world in this season, but you’re not on your own, not by a long shot.

NOT BY A LONG SHOT
In Matthew 14, we read about Jesus walking on water. Back in Old Testament times, the sea represented chaos and it was an element to be feared. This is why Jesus walked on the water, to show his disciples that He was the One in control and they didn’t need to be afraid. All they needed to do was to look to him over the chaos that surrounded them.
But the disciples, who were now in the middle of the lake, ran into trouble, for their boat was tossed about by high winds and heavy seas. At about four o’clock in the morning, Jesus came to them, walking on the waves! When the disciples saw him walking on top of the water, they were terrified and screamed, “A ghost!” Then Jesus said, “Be brave and don’t be afraid. I am here!” Matthew 14:24-27

237 GOOD REASONS TO PRAY
We’ve been social distancing for years now over the internet you and me. However, this hasn’t stopped us connecting with each other. You are part of the 237 good reasons I’m praying. Every week you’ve been “virtually” hanging out with me for quite some time. All 237 of you! And if you’re a newb to the tribe because you’ve had to self isolate and you want to read something uplifting and positive, “Hello and welcome! Pull up a chair and I’ll get the kettle on.” I know you’re here because you feel like you’re in the middle of the chaotic sea and your little boat is being tossed about by the high winds of uncertainly.
It could be four o’clock in the morning for you right now as you’re reading this blog (get some sleep because you’ll have to homeschool your kids in a few hours). However, you can’t sleep, because you feel that there’s a huge storm raging within you and you need some peace because of your need of connection. I’m here for you, okay?
The enemy may well have pulled the old switcheroo on all of us right now, making sure we don’t connect with each other, but you’re not on your own, not by a long shot. Jesus is saying to you, dear friend, “Be brave and don’t be afraid. I am here!”
Exactamungo! And I am too.
