More than all the grains

Sand. It gets everywhere doesn’t it?  Days later from going to the beach, you’ll find tiny grains of the stuff in your shoes, hat, bag and Smartphone case. The book you read whilst at the beach, will have grains in most of the pages, leaving its sandy mark across the paper.

Is that why the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 139:18, that if we could count each one of God’s thoughts toward us they would be more than all the grains of sand on the earth?

MORE THAN ALL THE GRAINS

Just stop and ponder that thought for a moment.

God’s thoughts towards YOU are more than all the grains of sand on the whole earth. And like sand, they’ll stick to you, if you let them. God’s thoughts can get into everything like the tiny grains that make up a whole beach when you lay on God’s Word and let His thoughts about you run through your fingers like thousands of grains of sand.

The hardest part, is letting those thoughts actually sink into you mind and believe what God says about you is true.

Think about all those times the Father of Lies, bombarded you with accusation after accusation, telling you that God doesn’t care about the details of your life.

One treacherous lie after another, until you feel so abandoned by God that you’ve closed yourself off to ever believing that He can love you.

Listen, dear friend. Satan is a liar and there is no truth in him. ‘He couldn’t stand the truth because there wasn’t a shred of truth in him. When the Liar speaks, he makes it up out of his lying nature and fills the world with lies.’ John 8:44 (The Message Bible)

Did you hear that? When the liar speaks, he makes it up. Hmmmm, I think it’s about time we let God do the speaking over our lives and silence Satan for good. It’s time we stopped giving him air play in our minds and start listening to God’s Truth.

God speaks and things happen.

And every single thought he has towards you is good.

Let me tell you, I picked up just a handful of sand when I was at the beach the other day and if all those grains of sand represented every thought God has towards me, then that would be a lifetime’s worth right there in my hand.

But, because we serve an extravagant, faithful, loving God, He reminds you in Psalm 139:18, that his thoughts about you are more, so much more than the grains of sand on every. single. beach.

What a mind-blowingly awesome comfort to your soul!
