They say that moving house can be one of the most stressful things you can do in life. Maybe. But if you can learn to embrace the stretch you could end up with a room with a view.    

We knew God had called us to sell our house and move from the bush to the beach. And it seems that every obstacle the enemy has thrown at my family over the past six weeks, has just made us more and more sure that this move was the right thing to do. Now, as I sit here and write in my new house, I have a view of the ocean.  

A ROOM WITH A VIEW

Isaiah 54:2-3 talks about enlarging the place of your tent. ’…Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations, and make the desolate cities inhabited.’ 

Seems to me like an awful lot of stretching and expanding. But, this is where God does His best work. He wants our faith to be stretched, lengthened and strengthened. If your faith is too small, then your tent will be too and you won’t be able to hold everything God has for your future. He has to expand you from the inside out so you can handle the calling that is on your life.   

EMBRACING THE STRETCH

While my kids were growing up they used to complain about pains in their legs. Now, I thought growing pains were a myth, but it turns out it’s an actual thing. Both of my kids are now taller than me, so they had to do a lot of painful growing! 

Growing pains are painful, but they’re essential for your future. If you want your tent to have a room with a view, you have to embrace the stretch.  Visualising the future God has for you is like having a room with a view. When you can “see” it in your heart, you will learn to embrace the stretch because you know God is strengthening your stakes and lengthening your cords to make sure your tent can with stand all the elements the enemy will try to throw at you.  

Once you’ve stretched, lengthened and strengthen your faith, like me, your tent could end up with a room with a view!
