A Pretty Incredible Ending.
Did you know that God sees your finish as more important than your start? It’s true. Jesus started out in an animal’s drinking trough, but his finish…well, you’ll just have to read on.
I was chatting with my Father in Law the other day, and he said that if circumstances had been different in his past, he probably would have known Jesus sooner. He said that he feels as though he’s missed out on something all those years ago because he’s so happy now. I reminded him that it’s no good looking back, you have to keep moving forward, and that I believe his finish is going to be better than his start. He is going to have a pretty incredible ending I’m sure.

So, how about you, my friend, what kind of start have you had in life? One that you’d rather forget. Do you look at people who love Jesus and think that the start you had disqualifies you from having that kind of happiness? That your start is too damaged and too lost for Jesus to come and find you and make you whole again. You could have a pretty incredible ending, an ending that is far, far better than your beginning.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 says, ‘Endings are better than beginnings.’ Jesus started his life in a stable and ended up on a cross. Hold on, how is that a pretty incredible ending? Hebrews 12:1 reminds us that,‘….He endured the cross and ignored the shame of that death because He focused on the joy that was set before Him; and now He is seated beside God on the throne, a place of honour.’
When Jesus finally died on the cross He said, “It is finished.” Every mistake, sin and bad decision you’ve made Jesus finished it on that cross, so you could have a pretty incredible ending. He doesn’t look at your start in life, it’s all about how you finish. The whole point of Jesus coming down from Heaven to Earth was to save us from all of our bad starts in life. God gave you space and freedom to choose whether you wanted Him in your finish or not.

Remember, God isn’t too worried about how you started, He’s more concerned with how you finish. The Bible says that Jesus is the ‘author and finisher of our faith.’ Hebrews 12:2 And that, ‘He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.’ Philippians 1:6. Endings are better than beginnings because God is the author of your life’s story. He began a good work in you even when you think you’ve had a really bad start in life. And with all great, epic stories there is always…
…A pretty incredible ending.
