13 Spaces: Trusting God through the chapters of your life.
13 spaces? What are 13 spaces? Well, it’s not some cool new Netflix series you can binge-watch while wearing your sweatpants and eating ice cream from the tub with a spoon. And it isn’t the distance between you and your loved one when you’ve just had a big fight about who was the last one to use the bathroom and didn’t change the roll…again. *Facepalm*
13 spaces are where a writer leaves space between the top of a page and starts the next chapter when typing up a manuscript.

Doesn’t that feel like life sometimes when God is nudging you to start a new chapter? 13 spaces of nothingness before you see the words ‘chapter one’ in the book of your life.
13 spaces of blank white page that scars you silly. 13 spaces that have turned that fierce tiger within you into a little ‘fraidy cat who’s roar has shrunk back into a meow. High octane, adrenalin, base jumping into 13 empty spaces fills you with dread more than wonder. And to free fall into something you know absolutely nothing about isn’t my idea of a great time. And neither is it God’s.

I believe God isn’t an extreme sport kinda guy. He doesn’t send you over the bridge with your feet in a bungee cord, shouting, “Good luck, kiddo!” as you plummet towards the ground towards almost death. Sure, he loves adventure and excitement, he loves us to go exploring and discovering new things, He is widely extravagant with showing off, but crazy, unplanned stuff? Nah. Not His style.
When writer’s get together they ask you, “Are you a planner or a pantser?” Which basically means, do you write by the seat of your pants wondering what will happen next in your story or do you plan your book right down to the last detail? If you read your Bible on the regular, you would have quickly realised that God is all in the details. 13 spaces are given at the start of each of your chapters in life so you can breathe and relax and trust the ‘…One who never sleeps or slumbers…’ (Psalm 121:1)

^^Truth right there, folks!
Use the 13 spaces before your next chapter of your life starts to dig deep in His Word and look expecting with anticipation and confidence that ‘…the One who began this glorious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you and will put His finishing touches to it until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ!’ Philippians 1:6
So, don’t be fearful of 13 spaces because God is in the business of setting you up for a win and He uses those 13 spaces to get you prepared and ready for what He’s going to in the next chapter of your life!
He is the Author and Finisher of your faith,(Hebrews 12:2) who has planned your story right down to the last detail. All you need to do is walk through the chapters and trust Him.
